Hi, I’m Erica

I’m an artist and writer living in an old Victorian house in Illinois with my husband, our kid, and two very dramatic cats named Prince and Bowie. I spend most of my time making art, reading obsessively, playing video games, and slowly turning our yard into a cottage garden. I also bake a mean sourdough loaf.

If you were around back when I ran The Sleepy Pine, that was me. These days, I create under my own name, and the work has grown with me.

I’ve always bounced between mediums—drawing, painting, writing, pottery, photography—and for a while, I thought that meant I was doing it wrong. But I’ve been learning to follow my inspiration more freely and create from a place that feels emotionally honest, even if that means going slow. After years of losing sight of art, I’m finding my way back to the heart of it. And honestly, I think the messiness of that is part of the magic.
